Compact / Lightweight, Wide Dynamic Range,
Integrated Photon Counting Circuit, ECL Output
The H3460-53 and -54 Photon Counting Heads consist of a
25mm (1") diameter photon counting photomultiplier tube and a
high-speed amplifier/discriminator in a compact case. By simply
connecting power supplies for the photomultiplier tube and am-
plifier/discriminator, plus a pulse counter to the output, photon
counting with high S/N ratio will be performed. Since the H3460-53
and -54 have a superior pulse-pair resolution, there is no sub-
stantial pulse overlapping up to 10

cps, thus high-precision pho-
tometry with excellent linearity is possible.

The C3589 Prescaler converts the ECL output pulses from the
H3460 series into TTL level signals. The output pulses can be
divided by 10.
The use of the C3589 makes it possible to carry out photon
counting with a wide dynamic range without using a high-
speed counter.
