The MCS-EB1 is a C-platform (i8052) for demonstrating and testing basic color recognition based on
a new type of JenColour sensors. Specific adapter boards allow the usage of JenColour sensors in
TO5 as well as SOP8 packages. 4 x achromatic light LED's illuminate a test surface in an irradiation
angle of 45.
In the vertical area, the light reflected diffusely is detected and digitized at a distance of 20 mm with
the color sensor. For communication between PC and the MCS-EB1, a RS232 interface is available.
This implements the transmission of sensor data and setting of selected parameters.

The convenient PC software makes a normalization of measurement values and control of the
amplification factors of the CVC possible. In addition to the determined 10-Bit ADC values of the
individual RGB photo currents, the standardized RGB color sections as well as the combination color
are animated-displayed real time.
